Babolat continues its breakthrough innovation to the game of tennis with the new 2015 Pure Aero Play tennis racquet. Babolat's Play connected racquet has sensors integrated into the handle that allows players to have access to an assortment of information regarding one's game. This Play racquet records the type, and many strokes (forehand, backhand, serve, smash) spin level, ball impact, location, total and active play time, power, endurance, technique, consistency, energy and rallies. Data recorded by the Babolat Play racquet is transferred wirelessly via Bluetooth to a smartphone, tablet, or a computer via USB port in racquet butt-cap.
The Babolat Pure Aero Play offers a great new matte black and fluorescent yellow cosmetic. An emphasis on spin friendly design remains a carryover from the design of the Aeropro Drive family of racquets. An updated Aeromodular beam design produces 11% less drag than the previous Aeropro Drive. FSI Spin string pattern spacing offers a more open string pattern, as well as permits more movement of the main strings, due to slotted grommet openings at 6:00 and 12:00.
For Optimal String Performance Babolat Recommends:
Durability:Babolat RPM Blast
Babolat created a higher sweetspot on the string bed for additional power and comfort in the hitting zone. Frame String Interaction technology is located in the hoop of the racquet, allowing the ball to stay on the stringbed 25% longer than traditional racquets.
Babolat’s second generation Aeromodular technology, located in the middle of the frame, allows for a 10% quicker response through the air, offering that ultra fast racquet head speed so many players seek.

I have been loyal to Babolat racquets for many many years now, so I figured I would go head and give the newest play racquet a try. Most recently I have been using the Pure Drive and the AeroPro drive. I haven’t quite updated to the Pure Aero, so I was anxious to give this one a try. I’ve been looking to add a little more pop to my shots and some more spin, and the Pure Aero play helped me to do exactly that. My game has been benefiting from this racquet ever since, with the potential for immense power, spin and control. Not to mention the system that helps you track your shots and accuracy. I love the technology that Babolat is integrating in their frames. This is a great frame to learn more about your game and to help you improve on a daily basis.
5 StarsLove the new technology

As a younger player looking to start taking my game to the next level, the Babolat Pure Aero play was the perfect choice. I was using the Aeropro Drive before and I knew this would be the best choice to upgrade if I wanted to track my performance as well. The new innovation that Babolat uses with the sensors built into the frame is truly unbeatable. I used the racquet for about two hours the first day to see how accurate the tracking system would be, and it did not disappoint! This is just a bigger and better version of the Pure Aero, and I could not be happier with my choice. I will definitely be investing in another one in the near future. For equal durability and feel, I used a hybrid combination of Babolat RPM Blast 16G with Babolat Natural Gut at mid tension. For reference I am 17 years old and playing top level USTA junior national tournaments.
5 StarsCool concept, better racquet

I took out this racquet recently for a demo and I loved the way it played. The Pure Aero really is a spin making machine. This racquet created great bite on hits from all over the court. I noticed that by the 3rd game I was really getting great depth on my shots, giving my opponent great difficulties. Technology wise, I was really fascinated by the "connected" tennis aspect of this racquet. The app really allows you to go indepth with your game. This racquet definitely would be a great training tool for any coaches looking for new ways to develop their students. All in all, it was a great racquet.
4 Starsgreat racquet - play works with bluetooth

I'm a 4.5 41 year old competitive player coming from a Prince Graphite extended - the power in this Pure Aero Play is incredible. It certainly takes some time to tame flat shots but the extra weight on the ball is noticeable - I'm also getting many more free points on serve. The data uploads can be temperamental. Using bluetooth on an old iphone 4s, I haven't had any issues. When I try to plug the racquet into my Macbook air using the accompanying cable, results are less predictable. On three occasions the data from the session was lost. So I'm sticking to bluetooth! Some of the data is questionable - my highest serve clocks out at 98mph - I'm beating strong players with pace - I'm guessing it's off by around -10 - 15 mph. I also put a leather grip on the racquet - adds a bit more stability and a hammer like feel. Great purchase!
5 StarsGreat Frame!

As a big fan of Babolat's "Play" series, I set out to give the new Pure Aero Play a demo. I typically play with the Pure Drive series, but I'm always tinkering with my game, so I figured why not give the Pure Aero Play a test. I was looking to add a little more spin and bite to my ball & this frame did the trick. The Pure Aero Play even generated more power than I was expecting. By my 2nd demo session, I was able to blend in a fair amount of comfort and control. Step by step this racquet got even better. Babolat's "Play" technology does a wonderful job recording all of my stats throughout a match or even a hit around session. Great tool for learning more about your game and how to improve.
