I recently made the switch from the previous version (AeroPro Drive) to the newer Pure Aero. I saw that they had a couple different versions, but I just decided to stick with the basic cosmetics for now and maybe update later to get one special version. Just as the aeropro drive, this racquet continued to impress me with the all around potential that it offers. At times I feel like I am getting even more power and pop with this, which can take some adjusting to. My groundstrokes and serves have way more power already, and I’m able to hit flat or with spin depending on what I want to do. I love slicing with this racquet because the extra swing weight really helps to get the extra bite on it. I could go on and on about this frame, but it’s truly just great all around. I like to put a polyester string in at lower tension for some added spin and control.
I bought this racquet 2 weeks back. I found it's a very good, has balance of power, control and spin.
Babolat has made this great racquet even better. I'm a 4.5 player and spin is my game. I had the older AeroPro and was as happy as could be. Volkl Cyclone Tour was a great match. Broke my old frames and decided to try the new Pure Aero. Not sure about the more aerodynamic frame, but the new grommets are an upgrade. If you want spin, buy 2.
The reason you buy an Aero is for topspin. Babolat did a great job with the new grommets. I can tell my shots have more spin. I use Solinco Tour Bite Soft and the spin and feel are all there. Did not really need to replace my old AeroPro, but I am glad I was bored and tried a demo. My wife, not so much!!
I have been using the Babolat Pure Drive since 2009 and decided it was time for an upgrade. I could’ve just gone for the newest line of the Pure Drive for 2015, but I wanted to switch things up, yet still stay within Babolat because I think they create the best frames. After thorough research I decided to demo and purchase the Pure Aero. I could not have made a better decision! Like that of the Pure Drive, the balance of power and control was taken to an even better level. Even though I felt like the Pure Drive offered slightly more power, the Pure Aero had all of the control that I needed. This racquet also helped add some spin to my game, which was something I had been lacking before. The swingweight of this racquet also helped add some stability. I recommend stringing this racquet with a hybrid string for power and control; I used RPM Blast and Addiction at mid tension. I am a 5.0 player that played in college as well.
Great feel on ground strokes. An excellent choice for those who are stronger and can handle the weight
I love everything about this racquet. I'm getting great extra spin on the ball. I bought it because it was the update to the AeroPro drive which I had before this and it was also time for me to get a new racquet. Would recommend!
Great update to the Babolat Aero Pro! I was looking for a racquet that could provide not only loads of power, but also add a little bit of spin to my game. Boy, did this frame accomplish both of those feats! As a player that has played with the previous generations of Babolat Aero Pro racquets, I did notice that the Pure Aero did feature a little bit more of heft in terms of swingweight, which allowed a little more stability throughout the frame. I recommend stringing this racquet with a polyester string somewhere in the mid 50G+笻s to help control some of the massive power & spin that this frame provides.
4.0-4.5 Player. Increased spin on serves and groundstrokes. Made kick serves a snap and power serves more dependable. Crossed over from the AeroPro Drive Plus and didn't regret it. This will be the new thing...don't get left behind.....
Feels great just too much power for me.
Very nice racquet, very slick paint job
A little more pop on the serve. Nice spin from baseline. Good feel at the net.
Extremely versatile, and user friendly racket. Could not find any dislikes about this racket. It might feel a little stiff for some folks but a soft string at the proper tension will take care of that. Very forgiving racket.
Love the spin and power, especially the kick you can get off the serve. For a babolat it is relatively flexible and soft. I strung mine up around 54lbs with no dampener and had no arm issues. Would highly recommend to other players to check out this stick.
3.5/4.0 player, strung with 53 lb rpm blast. I really love this racquet. So much topspin, volleys are great, great power on the serves. This racquet has feels great, very impressed with this stick!
