The 2015 update to the legendary Babolat Pure Drive, now in a sleek black, blue and white design. The new Pure Drive is updated with Babolat's FSI "frame to string interaction" technology with a redefined sweetspot. Babolat's Pure Drive impact zone is located higher than the traditional center of the racquet. This technology allows for a comfortable feel to go along with increased power. Elliptical shape of the frame helps with added resistance against torque and flexing for increased power. Cortex Dampening Interface for even better feel. Only those frequencies that enhance feel are permitted to pass through the Cortex filter. All in all, the Babolat Pure Drive is a great option for any player looking for increased power with a comfortable controllable feel.
For Optimal String Performance Babolat Recommends:

Headsize: 100 sq. in.
Length: 27.00 in.
Weight (strung): 11.20 oz.
Stiffness (Babolat RDC): 71
Balance: 13.00 in. Head Light (4pts)
Cross Section: 23/26/23mm Tapered Beam
Swingweight: 315 kg*sq. cm
String Pattern: 16x19
Grip: Babolat Syntec Pro
Babolat has kept the specifications on the 2015 Pure Drive virtually the same as the previous generation 2012 Pure Drive, Pure Drive Team, Pure Drive Cortex, and Pure Drive GT. That is, the Pure Drive GT remains the definitive tweener (between powerful/controlled) frame. 100 sq. in. head, 11.20 ounce strung weight, and 308 swingweight provide an excellent balance of power, control, and maneuverability. Expect improved feel and solid performance from all points on the court with the latest Pure Drive!
Babolat created a higher sweetspot on the string bed for additional power and comfort in the hitting zone. Frame String Interaction technology is located in the hoop of the racquet, allowing the ball to stay on the stringbed 25% longer than traditional racquets.
Babolat’s GT technology was implemented to provide ideal stability at ball impact. With GT technology, the frame is strengthened which reduces the torque, allowing for great precision. The additional rigidity through GT technology provides ultimate control and additional power.
The ultimate comfort technology from Babolat. The Cortex Dampening System interface was put into Babolat’s racquets to enhance feel by canceling out vibration frequencies. This technology is offered in two versions, the “Cortex System” focuses in on pure feel, reducing harmful vibrations. Babolat’s second offering, “Cortex Active” dampens vibrations allowing for maximum comfort.
Babolat’s elliptical frame shape is designed specifically to eliminate any added weight, frame twisting or racquet bending.
Babolat’s Woofer system is the first and most effective frame to string linking system. This technology allows for longer ball and string contact time, creating maximum comfort and greater control.
Unique frame thickness that gives the racquet less torque at ball contact, creating a livelier clean response
I have always loved the Pure Drive ever since it was released by Babolat. I had been using an older version and decided to make a change and go for the upgraded model. I demo’ed the 2015 Pure Drive and at first didn’t love it, only because I felt like the strings were impacting my opinion of the frame. I got the racquet restrung with a polyester string and it changed everything! This racquet brings everything I need to the court: power, control, and finesse. I definitely noticed the higher sweet spot in the racquet which helped me with my shot selection and placement of the ball. For optimum durability and performance I recommend using a polyester string or a hybrid poly/multifilament combination. I am a 5.0 player that used RPM Blast 16G at 52lbs, a little below mid tension.

Switched from the Wilson Juice 100 (which I loved). Really like the balance and the feel from this frame.

As a user of the old Pure Drive, I felt that it was necessary to try out the newest update to the racquet line. The first thing that I noticed was the new FSI string spacing, which seems to raise the sweet spot more towards the tip of the racquet. I was able to hit the ball with depth from all over the court. Control may have been a little issue at first, but power sure does not lack with this frame. Serving was the highlight of my demo session with Pure Drive. My serves were smooth and powerful. I did run into some issues in terms of maneuverability and stability around the net, but all in all, I really enjoyed this update.

While pros make a much better use of this racket, I tend to get a great combination of power, control and versatility out of this racket. The racket head speed is superb and it has a lot of power in it.

My daughter had the 2012 version and we needed to switch grip sizes. We opted to stick with the Pure Drive. Definitely not disappointed!

This was a gift to my wife. She l-o-v-e-s this racquet with the special Babolat string. Her game has improved given the added "power" realized with this racquet over the past month or so and she attribute this to the racquet, the string, and the power increase. This IS her favorite racquet and is a perfect mel with her game...serve & volley.

Switched from Prince Warrior 100 ESP and have no regrets. Like the heavier weight and tighter string pattern and better accuracy. Racquet feels great from serve, to baseline ground stroke to volleys at the net. Currently strung with Wilson RipSpin and Sensation in a hybrid at 55lbs. I am a 4.0 player that has only been playing tennis for approx 2 years

Love the feel and the effortless power. I love the way I get a pure strike on the ball. RPM Blast 17 was a perfect match!
