The 2015 update to the legendary Babolat Pure Drive Plus, now in a sleek black, blue and white design. This Pure Drive Plus is updated with Babolat's FSI "frame to string interaction" technology with a redefined sweetspot. Babolat's Pure Drive Plus' impact zone is located higher than the traditional center of the racquet. Extended length at 27.5 inches, allows for better reach and additional stability out on the court. Elliptical shape of the frame helps with added resistance against torque and flexing for increased power. The half inch longer Pure Drive Plus features Babolat's classic Cortex Dampening Interface for even better feel. Only those frequencies that enhance feel are permitted to pass through the Cortex filter.
For Optimal String Performance Babolat Recommends:

Babolat has kept the specifications on the 2015 Pure Drive Plus virtually the same as the previous generation 2012 Pure Drive Plus , Pure Drive Team, Pure Drive Cortex, and Pure Drive GT. That is, the Pure Drive Plus remains the definitive tweener (between powerful/controlled) frame. 100 sq. in. head, 27.5 inch length, 11.20 ounce strung weight, and 321 swingweight provide an excellent balance of power, control, and added reach for additional pop.
Babolat created a higher sweetspot on the string bed for additional power and comfort in the hitting zone. Frame String Interaction technology is located in the hoop of the racquet, allowing the ball to stay on the stringbed 25% longer than traditional racquets.
Babolat’s GT technology was implemented to provide ideal stability at ball impact. With GT technology, the frame is strengthened which reduces the torque, allowing for great precision. The additional rigidity through GT technology provides ultimate control and additional power.
The ultimate comfort technology from Babolat. The Cortex Dampening System interface was put into Babolat’s racquets to enhance feel by canceling out vibration frequencies. This technology is offered in two versions, the “Cortex System” focuses in on pure feel, reducing harmful vibrations. Babolat’s second offering, “Cortex Active” dampens vibrations allowing for maximum comfort.
Babolat’s elliptical frame shape is designed specifically to eliminate any added weight, frame twisting or racquet bending.
Babolat’s Woofer system is the first and most effective frame to string linking system. This technology allows for longer ball and string contact time, creating maximum comfort and greater control.
Unique frame thickness that gives the racquet less torque at ball contact, creating a livelier clean response
When I went to demo this racquet I was pretty skeptical because I have never used a frame with extra length or heft. Recently I have been feeling a plateau in my game so I decided to try something new, and I am really glad that I did. With the slightly longer length of this frame, I’m able to maneuver around the court easier and cover more shots. It allowed me to put a little more power on my shots, which I noticed mostly in my ground strokes and serves. Not only has my power improved, but I noticed my accuracy increased as well. The heavy weight hasn’t given me any arm problems either, which is refreshing. This is worth a try for an advanced player looking for some more heft in their frame.

I am used to playing with a regular sized racquet and a lighter frame, but my coach suggested that I try out this frame to see if I could get a little more power on my shots. So far I am loving it! This racquet does have a slightly longer length, which makes me feel like I can cover more shots on the court easier. It also feels like the added length provides more pop on my shots. I noticed this mostly in my serves. I have been able to flatten my serve out and get more power as well as better placement with this racquet. I was a little surprised that the heavier frame did not give me any arm pain, but I have been playing with it for a couple weeks and it still feels great! I am able to swing through my shots very smoothly and it requires very little effort on the swing. The racquet is maneuverable and versatile on the court, as I am able to hit crisper volleys and overheads as well. I love the paint job on this racquet as well! You really can’t go wrong with this frame, definitely worth a try! I strung this with Luxilon 4G slightly below mid tension for some added power.

Good racquet, very good feel from the baseline and at the net.

Good racquet. Solid on groundstrokes and volleys. The extra length increased the 'pop' on my serve and added consistency.

I am a 5.0 player and never used a Babolat before. Maybe because I had it strung with the Hurricane string but the racket feels "dead" It just doesn't have the pop my Head rackets do. Kind of disappointed overall. In addition the grip started to give me a blister near my thumb. This has never happened before with any and all the rackets I have used in over 40 years of playing and teaching.

I was excited to try the new 2015 version, I have 4 of the prior versions and frankly there is virtually no difference from the older version. If anything the like the design and slimmer look of the older version.
