The Babolat Pure Drive Tour is the 2015 update to the Babolat Pure Drive Roddick, now in a sleek black and blue design. The extremely powerful Pure Drive Tour is updated with Babolat's new FSI "frame to string interaction" technology with a redefined sweetspot. Babolat's Pure Drive impact zone is located higher than the traditional center of the racquet. Elliptical shape of the frame helps with added resistance against torque and flexing for increased power. Cortex Dampening Interface for even better feel. Only those frequencies that enhance feel are permitted to pass through the Cortex filter. This frame is a great option for a players who are physically and technically at the top of their game, seeking the heaviest option in the 2015 Pure Drive racquet line.

Babolat has kept the specifications on the new 2015 Pure Drive Tour virtually the same as the previous generation Pure Drive Roddick, Pure Drive Roddick Cortex and Pure Drive Roddick GT. Great player-oriented tweener (between powerful/controlled) frame for those who prefer a Pure Drive with a heavier heft. 100 sq. in. head, 11.80 ounce strung weight, and 315 swingweight provide an excellent balance of power, control, and maneuverability. The Pure Drive Tour provides a little more stiffness and power, provided you are able to handle the additional weight.
Babolat created a higher sweetspot on the string bed for additional power and comfort in the hitting zone. Frame String Interaction technology is located in the hoop of the racquet, allowing the ball to stay on the stringbed 25% longer than traditional racquets.
Babolat’s GT technology was implemented to provide ideal stability at ball impact. With GT technology, the frame is strengthened which reduces the torque, allowing for great precision. The additional rigidity through GT technology provides ultimate control and additional power.
The ultimate comfort technology from Babolat. The Cortex Dampening System interface was put into Babolat’s racquets to enhance feel by canceling out vibration frequencies. This technology is offered in two versions, the “Cortex System” focuses in on pure feel, reducing harmful vibrations. Babolat’s second offering, “Cortex Active” dampens vibrations allowing for maximum comfort.
Babolat’s elliptical frame shape is designed specifically to eliminate any added weight, frame twisting or racquet bending.
Babolat’s Woofer system is the first and most effective frame to string linking system. This technology allows for longer ball and string contact time, creating maximum comfort and greater control.
Unique frame thickness that gives the racquet less torque at ball contact, creating a livelier clean response
I decided to review this racquet after playing with it for several months now. I have been playing the most consistent tennis of my life and I owe it all to this frame. It has many pros, and the downside of this frame is the heavy weight of it. This makes for a heavier swing which can be tough to adjust to. However after a week or so, I was able to adjust and it actually was beneficial to my game. This racquet gave me the power and control I needed to take my game to the next level. At times it was tough to find the right touch, but again nothing a short adjustment period can’t fix. I wouldn’t recommend this frame to anyone with

So happy that they basically renamed the PD Roddick. If you like the PD, but have a little trouble with control or stability, then this is the answer. 4.0 level player and use ALU and NXT. The big serve and ground strokes are still there.
5 StarsGreat racquet

As a previous user of the Pure Drive Roddick, I figured I would give this racquet a try as it is the update to that frame. The first thing I noticed was the improvement in the sweet spot, which is located higher in the racquet. This had a wonderful effect on my ground strokes and I was able to swing through the ball much easier. This racquet had all of the power and control that I was looking for and more. I have been getting more and more depth on the ball with each time I play, and I have noticed an improvement with the pop on my serve. At first I was concerned about trying this racquet since it is so stiff, but I really haven’t had any arm pain with it yet. I also noticed that my ground strokes were starting to have more top spin, which really took my game to the next level. My volleys and overheads took some time to adjust, but overall not really an issue. Truly loved this racquet and would recommend to any advanced player. I had it strung with RPM Blast at mid tension for durability.
5 Starsthe best racket .

Just bought two of these for Christmas. Awesome racquets love the feel. Haven't quite gotten used to them. Much heavier than my last racquet so my arm is quite sore from the first day of playing with it.
