Babolat continues their racquet updates with the new Pure Strike 16x19 tennis racquet. With a fresh new, white and orange cosmetic look, the Pure Strike 16x19 is used on the ATP Tour by the youngest member of the top 10, Dominic Thiem.
The newly minted speed machine, features Babolat's new FSI Power Technology -- an optimized string pattern that was designed with wider spacing within the crosses, providing additional power. New Hybrid Frame construction gives any player a unique blend of power and control. Comparing this Pure Strike to the previous 2014 version, Babolat has widened parts of the beam within the throat & 3/9/12 o'clock portions of the racquet enhancing stability and precision at ball impact.
The Pure Strike 16x19 features a 98 square inch head size with a 21/23/21mm tapered beam. The racquet itself weighs in at a comfortable 11.4 ounce strung weight, giving player's a speedy user-friendly option that mixes a nice amount of control with a responsive feel.
For Optimal String Performance Babolat Recommends:
Durability:Babolat RPM Blast
Hybrid:Babolat RPM Blast / VS
Note: Babolat does not include a cover with this racquet.
I've been playing this racquet for a over a month and have nothing bad to say about it. Great feel and comfort on every shot, don't see myself changing racquets anytime soon.

5 StarsSolid Racquet

I am a 3.0 (3.5 on a good day) who has been playing for around a year and a half. I love this racquet! Started out with a customized Pro Staff 97LS and was looking for a racquet within the same spec range but with a little more plush feeling and control and stock weight. This racquet definitely delivers. When my groudstroke mechanics are working it just feels great. For some reason I am having trouble finding consitency on my two handed backhand but other than that, my forehand, volleys and serves have more control and maybe a little more spin, and it is a pleasure to hit with.
5 StarsGreat frame

This is a fantastic frame. It sits nicely perched between the Pure Drive/Pure Aero series and the Pure Control Tour series (soon to be the Pure Strike Tour VS). It has great spin potential and is phenomenally solid for its stock weight. It is firm but very comfortable with very little in the way of vibrations. All in all it is a great frame for someone who likes a little help in the power department but likes to swing out. It is one of the best serving racquets and best volleying racquets I have ever used. Babolat has a winner with this one.
5 StarsNice update

So far I have enjoyed playing with this new update to the Pure Strike. As expected, it was fairly similar with some improvements. With this racquet you will have to work hard to generate power as it will not really give you anything in that area. It doesn’t have the same pop or power as the Pure Drive or the AeroPro Drive. This racquet really screams control, and I think that is what it is best for. Although control is the main priority, it does offer great power and spin when you can generate it yourself. In addition to this, I noticed a softer feel with this frame which is a plus. It’s an interesting frame that is worth demoing.
5 StarsGreat velocity on groundstrokes

4.0 polished player who competes with a group of high-level players in a weekly league. Had this racquet strung up at 55lbs with Babolat RPM Blast. I have operated with the Pure Strike racquets in the past, so ideally I wanted to check out the newest updates from Babolat. The first thing that struck me was the soft feel this new version provided me. I managed to create pretty satisfying velocity on my groundstrokes with a suitable combination of control and power. I typically do not finish my shots with a lot of rotation, but the 16x19 string pattern gave me a chance to develop a new skillset. Would give this racquet a demo before acquiring.
