Arguably the greatest match ever played (at least prior to the Nadal/Federer epic of 2008), the 1980 McEnroe vs Borg Wimbledon Gentlemen's Singles Final saw tennis at its finest. Sweden's Bjorn Borg faced off against the promising 21-year-old American, John McEnroe. Borg had four Wimbledon titles under his belt and was the firm favorite. McEnroe however had shown his potential two years earlier, reaching the semi-final from the qualifying stages. Vastly contrasting his character, Borg remained calm and composed, while McEnroe was openly emotional and determined.
