I have been playing with the Pure Drive for a few years now, but decided it was time for me to invest in a new racquet. I like to switch every 3-4 years because I believe the racquets do wear down over time. Overall I found this racquet to be of pretty nice quality in all aspects of it. The frame is maneuverable and versatile On the court. One thing I will say, as I have noticed in other reviews, is the racquet is fairly stiff. This makes it hard to have those nice touch shots- volleys, slices, etc. The stiffness will also wear down your arm overtime. The control and power were nice on this frame, but I didn't really get the spin or touch I would be looking for to complete my purchase. I think the Pure Drive has an all around better feel, but I definitely love the cosmetics of this frame! Definitely worth a try if you're looking to hit hard, flat balls from the baseline.
Took this racquet out for a demo session & did not care for the feel of it. It was rather stiff for my liking and I was really struggling with getting much touch on the more delicate shots. The interchangeable grommets is a cool feature but the 16x16 string pattern didnt suit my game. I like the 16x19 traditional pattern because it better fits my game. Just thought the racquet was a little too firm for my liking.
I just switched from the Head instinct MP racquet to this one. I currently have it strung w/ Luxilon Alu power 16L. I don't think I made the right choice w/ the string as I found a little difficulty w/ control. I would listen to the description and use Head Hawk string instead. I'm a huge fan of that particular string and my Instinct racquets are strung w/ it. This racquet is very maneuverable and can generate a lot of spin. It feels great when I hit and I really haven't had a "break-in" period w/ the racquet so far. If you're looking for more power and more spin, this is it! This racquet plays similarly to Babolat Aeropro but a little bit more affordable.
