This racquet would definitely appeal to a more advanced player who is able to swing a heavy racquet. Because this racquet weighs in at 12oz, it feels a little dense and stiff on the court. This racquet will play with plenty of power when you need it, but often feels unforgiving when you can’t hit directly on the sweet spot. I struggled with this frame because I generally need the racquet to generate most of the power for me, and this one just did not seem to do that. I think I am used to more of a Pure Drive, where there is a fast and easy swing and lots of power. It seems like this racquet would be great for someone who serves and volleys, rather than someone who pounds balls from the baseline.
Been stringing this racquet up with Head’s Lynx 17G. The racquet is really geared toward the advance player. Very dense string pattern, if you are a novice player, you may struggle hitting the small sweet spot. You are rewarded immensely when you do make contact with the sweet spot. Pretty hefty weight, so if you do not have the strength to swing a 12 ounce racquet, you should try to lighter version. The response from the racquet is very precise and controllable allowing for my shots to go exactly where I want. Perfect for my game!
Liked: Weight, handle shape, stiffness/flexibility. Hitting outside the sweet spot I lost some power and the racket let you know through feedback. If you hit the sweet spot every time - GREAT feel! Plush, pretty comfortable.
This racket gives me the best balance for power and precision. I have been using this racket for about 3 years, and it has served my game very well!
I demoed this racket and found it to be a heavy (but head light) racket with good power, but not enough control for my tastes. I think was due to the tight string pattern. Overall a very good racket.
I used HEAD prestige MP. I feel that this is better control and comfortable.
I'd been using the Head Prestige MP for a few years. I think it's the best precision racquet out there. The new Graphene version is even better--faster swing speed for more powerful ground strokes and more weight on each end for more pop on serves. I string with Wilson NXT 17 gage for gut-like feel on volleys. Really happy with this stick!
