Babolat has kept the specifications on the new Pure Drive Roddick virtually the same as the previous generation Pure Drive Roddick Cortex and Pure Drive Roddick GT. Great player-oriented tweener (between powerful/controlled) frame for those who prefer a Pure Drive with a heavier heft. 100 sq. in. head, 11.80 ounce strung weight, and 315 swingweight provide an excellent balance of power, control, and maneuverability. Meant to more closely replicate the weight of Andy's racquet, the Pure Drive Roddick provides a little more stiffness and power, provided you are able to handle the additional weight.

This is my second review of the PD Roddick rackets. The 1st was the one with the old Babolat logo, and this racket with the new logo feels and plays just like the 2012 model. Once again I strung it with the Dunlop Black Widow strings (16 gauge) at 56lbs. Same thing. Powerful racket, comfortable, and not to heavy. Serving is just fantastic!! I realized that the APD's are Babolat's most popular rackets(because of Rafa I'm sure), but in all honesty, the PD roddick are much better rackets! I own the APD GT(2010), and have played with the 2 previous generations to the APD GT 2010, and the newest one, the APD 2013, but NONE, and I say NONE of those rackets come even close in overall playability as the PD Roddick. Don't let the selling point that the APD's are spin making machines, that's just a marketing tool. Spin comes from YOUR TECHNIQUE!! Anyways, I just love this frames. I own 3 and may even get me a 4th one since I noticed the price drop. This PD Roddick are a remarkable feat of engineering and technolo
Great for advanced players
Great racket for power players who can handle a heavier, stiffer stick. This racket begs you to knock the tension down a few pounds. If you have elbow problems, kevlar or poly strings will probably cause you to quit tennis. Off center hits will still get the ball over the net, unlike the new Babolat Strike.
