Babolat has kept the specifications on the new Pure Drive Roddick virtually the same as the previous generation Pure Drive Roddick Cortex and Pure Drive Roddick GT. Great player-oriented tweener (between powerful/controlled) frame for those who prefer a Pure Drive with a heavier heft. 100 sq. in. head, 11.80 ounce strung weight, and 315 swingweight provide an excellent balance of power, control, and maneuverability. Meant to more closely replicate the weight of Andy's racquet, the Pure Drive Roddick provides a little more stiffness and power, provided you are able to handle the additional weight.

Great for advanced players
Great racket for power players who can handle a heavier, stiffer stick. This racket begs you to knock the tension down a few pounds. If you have elbow problems, kevlar or poly strings will probably cause you to quit tennis. Off center hits will still get the ball over the net, unlike the new Babolat Strike.
The Pure Drive Roddick is a beast of a racket! Very powerful! My is strung with Dunlop Black Widow 16g at 56lbs. You'll serve bombs with this one, and the groundstrokes are effortlessly on both wings. The PD Roddick is perhaps best suited for baseliners. Note: Despite the 11.8oz strung weight, the racket is fairly easy to swing. It does not feel super heavy, but extremely solid! If you are a solid player 3.5 or up with adequate strength, you'll love this one!
