Ultimate blend of power and control
4.0 player who plays 3-4 times a week, this racquet really is the total package. It’s a very solid option for the baseliner. Whenever I take this frame out to hit, I notice a really ideal blend of power and control. Feels really smooth off the stringbed & I’m able to control the majority of my shots. Beware its not as flexible as the newer Radical racquets. I recommend this racquet for the 3.5-4.0 level player who really knows how to control his/her game
Net handling is below average
Now I have had this racquet for over six months and I made many adjustments at the net but I am not very happy the way it handles it. Overall, the handling of this racquet at the net is below average. If you are strictly a baseline player then this racquet is good, otherwise, I will not recommend it. I just switched to Babolat Aero Pro Drive, and what a difference...handling is fantastic at the net, as well as the amount of top spin you can generate is unbelievable.
Like the weight
I have had this racket for couple of weeks now and had put on a lot of play time. The weight is one of the reasons I bought this racket. I was playing with heavier Head Instinct MP but that was taxing my arms too much. For being such a light racket the overall handling is fairly good at the baseline. Since this is a light racket, you will need to be aggressive and take faster swings to generate more power and speed. The handling at the net is not as good as my heavier racket, and I am making adjustments to fix this issue. Overall, I am very happy with this racket and like the Graphene technology. I demo'ed this racket along with two other Head rackets before buying it.
A Lighter Faster Winner
The Radical MP feels lighter than the specs reflect. Its lighter head-weight allows one to swing faster--if you have a fast swing and desire some additional control without going to a lighter, ultra-stiff frame, this frame would be great. If you are currently using a frame that is heavier, there will be an adjustment to one's serve & base-line shots. An NTRP of 3.5-4.5 would benefit from the additional quickness this frame would grant at the net in doubles. While somewhat lighter than my preferences, if I weren't getting older & crankier, this could easily become my next racquet of choice!
gives good control a little better than the original radical.
