The Yonex EZONE Ai 98 is an update to the EZONE XI 98 of the EZONE series and will be used by Ana Ivanovic in 2014. The evolutionary new frame minimizes wind resistance to produce an ultra-fast swing. Features "Isometric" technology with an improved shockless grommet system, expanding the sweet spot and reducing the frame vibration. The Isometric head shape maximizes the head size allowing ultimate swing speed and consistent power for off centered hits. New "Nanometric" material designed to improve the bonding strength between carbon fibers at the center and bottom of the frame, reducing the weight shift from the bottom to the top of the frame. This trans-weight system results in a racquet head that reacts faster for quicker maneuverability. The Dual Shut System technology improves comfort and control featuring shockless grommets at the bottom of the frame reducing impact vibration. Quake Shut Gel embedded inside the grip, removes any discomfort from the frame. The EZONE Ai 98 is optimal for the intermediate to advanced player with a faster swing looking for an excellent control oriented stick. Extra forgiveness from the 98 square inch head without diminishing the feel thanks to a thin 23/24/19mm tapered beam. Great comfort and control with every shot thanks to the new Dual Shut System. Maintains the feel of a larger sweetspot than its 98 square inch headsize would suggest, feeling solid yet forgiving. Heaviest offering in the EZONE Ai series.

Solid, Stable, Great Feel
I am a 40 year old 4.5 player and I have been playing the 2012 version of Wilson's Six One 95 for several years until switching to this racquet a few months ago. This racquet is about 1 oz lighter than my Wilson, but still in the range most pros are playing nowadays. This lighter racquet is also a bit less stiff and is easier on the arm for sure, and all in all it is as solid and stable as any racquet I have ever played. The switch definitely comes with an adjustment to a new feel, which is always the case, but I really like this stick all around. I find my consistency and depth are improved generally, and when I am late or out of position this racquet is very forgiving. I am playing this with luxilon ALU power in the mains and gamma tnt in the crosses. Works perfectly for me. I just ordered a second.
A little like a dampened, quieter Aeropro Drive. Sweet spot is smaller but when you hit it you knew it and it felt good. Head size and shape made volleys a little tougher than my usual racquet and slice does not seem to be a strong point of this racquet
SOLID FEEL & SWEETSPOT . GET PAST THE SHAPE OF THE HEAD AND YOU WILL BE ON BOARD WITH THIS GAME CHANGER
Good all around stick
Great stick with a good balance. I'm a 5.0 former college player who was looking for a stick with an open pattern that was solid, but not as heavy or stiff as traditional player racquets like the wilson blade or head prestige. I thought it had a great all around feel, good access to spin, solid on groundies while also holding its own at net. Put a poly like ALU power in it and you're all set.
