Not as wide as NB 656 I just loved put them on and go to the court with no break-in period. I am keeping the 696 and will have to break them in. Of course the NH 656 has been discontinued.
5 StarsTrue to wide width

I need a tennis shoe that is wide. So I ordered a wide-width shoe wondering if it would truly suit my wide foot. These shoes are nice and boxy at the toe; truly a wide!

New Balance makes wide shoes that are truly wide enough for people who need wide shoes. I am pretty happy with this pair. I am wearing them on clay and hard courts, and I like the stability and support that these shoes offer.
4 StarsA bit narrower than D

A more streamlined, lighter shoe than other New Balance models I have worn (804), which may explain why it is not quite as wide. Still found to be very comfortable after a short break-in period.
2 StarsWide is not so wide

I returned this because it was not wide enough for me. The size 7.5 "D"/wide was not as wide as the New Balance 656 size 7.5 Wide that I've been wearing and like a lot.
