Prince Classic Response 97 Tennis Racquet

The Prince Classic Response 97 returns with its iconic feel from the patented double bridge vibration dampening system, the world’s first and only technology to not only dampen vibration in both the frame but also the strings. An absolute classic all-around performance racquet, as previously used on tour by Patrick Rafter. Expect traditional feel with slightly more pop from the 23mm wide beam.

With a Prince Power Level of 600, straight 23mm beam, and a 97 square inch head, the Classic Response 97 offers great feel and excellent stability.

4 Stars Great Feel

from CA wrote (April 17, 2015):

This racket has an awesome, classic raw and crisp feel. Very old school. Very nice when you are that the offense especially if you are quite aggressive in attacking. During defense, it is easy to transition from defense to offense. A bit light but is solid, easy to swing the racket and is very forgiving for mishits. Only dislike is that the paint job is not good. Noticed that there are paints that are peeling off already. If a mishits happens and the ball touches the frame, the paints just flew off. Overall, a great racket.

4 Stars Old School

from MS wrote (February 10, 2015):

Old school high weight, head light balance racquet with very predictable response. I found it to be a little stiffer but also a little more maneuverable than the current iteration of the POG oversize. Has a "traditional" (read: smaller) sweet spot compared to modern designs. All in all, a very honest racquet ... that will keep you honest too. I really like these no-frills traditional designs, although they require more effort to hit consistently than certain more modern designs. Always liked the Prince offerings from the 90's (DB 26, etc.), and this one takes me back.

4 Stars Lethal weapon

from KY wrote (December 02, 2014):

This stick isn't very forgiving, but its solid weight gives it excellent pop and stability. If you don't hit the sweet spot you will know it, but it isn't very hard on the arm and seems to absorb vibration well. If you can handle the weight, this racquet is excellent, plus the old school looks draw plenty of compliments.

4 Stars threat to all 98's

from OH wrote (October 17, 2013):

this stick is solid and lethal! The 97 head was on par with Blades and Pure Storms . it's a load at 11.3 oz but this adds to the power on the serve and volleys, it needs a full swing from the baseline for penetration
