The Prince Tour 98 replaces the Rebel 98 and is the lightest frame in the Tour series, offering additional forgiveness and lighter weight in a controlled package. Still player-oriented, the 98 sq. in. mid plus frame is a great option for an intermediate player transitioning into a more advanced type player. New EXO3 technology for up to a 54% larger sweet spot. This update continues the responsive EX03 design with EX03 Ports which creates a more forgiving feel off of the stringbed.
With a Prince Power Level of 775, straight 21mm beam, combined with a dense 16x20 string pattern and a 98 square inch head, the Tour 98 offers a very forgiving, yet controlled option in the new Prince Tour line. Overall, the Tour 98 is a great racquet for an intermediate-advanced player with a moderate to fast swing speed, seeking a lighter feel.
I really enjoyed this control oriented frame. Felt really comfortable and easy to swing. I managed to generate a good amount of spin and felt like I was really painting the lines when I took this frame out for a demo. I'm in my mid 30's, 4.0 level, one negative was that I had a really hard time generating power from this frame. Although it was extra comfortable on those hits in the sweetspot, there did seem to be some dead spots on the stringbed. Since I was demoing the racquet, I didn't put the string in the frame, but I would recommend a poly to help out with those dead spots.
