I TRIED THIS WILSON OUT DURING MY SECOND LEAGUE MATCH. I WAS VERY SURPRISED AT THE POWER AND CONTROL IT DELIVERED. I PLAY IN A 4.0 LEAGUE AND HAVE ALWAYS USED PRINCE PRODUCTS. I WAS IMPRESSED WITH THE STABILITY OF MY NET SHOTS ON MY APPROACH AND IT DIDN'T ABUSE MY ELBOW. IT HAD SPIN WHEN I WANTED IT, AND FINESE AT THE NET. I HAD GREAT POWER WITH MY SERVICE GAME AND ACCOURACY. I AM STILL GOING TO DEMO A FEW OTHER RAQUETS BUT, BY FAR I AM THINKING THIS WILL BE THE ONE FOR ME. THE ONLY THING I WAS HAVING TROUBLE WITH, WAS MY INSIDE OUT FORHAND, BUT IT MIGHT OF BEEN ME GETTING TIRED, CAUSE WHEN I MOVED FORWARD WITH THE SHOT, IT WAS AWESOME, WAITING FOR THE BALL, VERY HARD TO GENERATE THE POWER I NEEDED FOR THAT SHOT.
This is a good racquet but it is stiff for me and less power that I want
I demoed this racket along with the Wilson Juice 100s after demoing them with a Wilson rep. This racket definitely provides extra spin and allows one to keep a rally going without any problems keeping the ball deep toward the baseline. However, because this is a light racket, the power has to come from you, and this can be wearisome after playing for a couple hours. Tape can be added to give the racket a little more pop, but one could also by the Steam 99S or the Juice 100S stock and achieve the spin, control, and power without modification. Still, a fun racket to hit around with.
I've been dreaming to play with a pro staff but the older generation it is too heavy with small head and dense string pattern for my type of play. Finally Wilson released a lighter version mid plus pro staff with open string pattern and the result is: INSANE AMOUNTS OF SPIN! I felt in love with it the 1st time I used it. The racquet is very maneuverable, with ample sweet spot and with the control of a pro staff. I also love the extra tad of power it creates on top of the spin it can generate. I am a baseliner who spins every shot and this racquet is perfect for me!
