Bought this in April for my 59th birthday present to me; had played with a couple versions of this over the past few years - and this was by far the best. I first just used it to play with my wife's 3.0 team (practice partner - semi instructor when needed). Although the balls were not coming fast - my immediate added control/spin gave me hope I could some day play competitive tennis with it. Since then I've played limited 3.5-4.0 doubles and have had amazing success. I normally play the Ad court, and I guess people just "assume" everybody's backhand return is bad - not mine, and this stick has made it even better. I can block the forehand back off a fast serve as needed - but most of the time I play cat/mouse off the backhand side, mixing up wicked slices that barely come inches off the ground - with hard flat shots that surprise most my opponents; this allows my partner to pretty much kill 75 percent of my returns off the next shot, and when the can get it back to me, I now close in much better with this racquet - it can compensate for my sight issues and with the huge sweetspot makes it a tough stick to put down. I had used Babolat 105's for several years - and now I can barely pick up the racquet without thinking "what am I doing?!" I'm completely sold (as least for Doubles) with this racquet - I've played a few matches with it in singles - and I think I need to play a bit more to really judge this - but at the 3.5 level I can compete with about anyone. Assuming I don't get bumped back up to 4.0, I'll have plenty fun with this one. If you have any vision issues (I see out of one eye), or have lost a step - check this out, ASAP!
Just mailed it back as a demo for a week. Used the previous version several years ago, and think this is a better product. I will be buying one soon - with limited vision and movement, I need all the help I can get - and staying competitive as I approve 60 is important to me. Thanks Weed!
The Weed racquets have a reputation as being too powerful, but if you play club or league doubles, you need to demo this stick. I was playing previously with the Prince Warrior 107T and looking for more stability on volleys. I was demoing a lot of OS racquets like the Babolat PD 110 and not liking them. Then a pro recommended I try out the Weed 125EX. I ordered a demo and was really surprised at how well the racquet played for me. I am 6'3", 210 lbs and play an aggressive serve and volley game and this racquet made me better in all areas. It is the best volleying racquet I have ever played with and is extremely stable. I love the head heavy balance, it's just right for me. It may be too powerful for a singles player with long strokes, but if you play doubles, DEMO THIS STICK!
