The Wilson Blade 104 is an update to the more forgiving Blade Team BLX and maintains traditional Blade feel, but in a lighter weight and larger headsize. Improved feel from Amplifeel handle and excellent frame feedback offered by basalt fiber (BLX) technology. A 22mm flat beam and 104 square inch headsize provide solid feel and ample control for intermediate to advanced players with a medium to fast swing. Longer 27.5 inch length for added pop. As used by Venus and Serena Williams.

Dense 18x19 string bed maintains control and stringbed stiffness for advanced players. BLX builds upon the very popular K Factor design, offering a refinement of Wilson frame technology that provides the ultimate in feel and performance. Uses new Wilson Pro Hybrid Grip, which offers thinner (1.6mm) synthetic grip comfort, combined with a leather base for ultimate feel.

What is BLX?
Basalt is a natural volcanic rock used in manufacturing and made into fine and ultra-fine gold fibers. Basalt fibers are environmentally friendly and superior to other fibers in terms of thermal stability, sound insulation, vibration assistance and durability. With the new BLX line, Basalt fibers are woven longitudinally with the innovating [K]arophite Black to create the most advanced composite ever in the industry. Players will find the ultimate in frequency reduction while retaining the performance of carbon fiber in terms of lightness, responsiveness, stability and rigidity.

Basalt added into racquets filters out unwanted frequencies (i.e vibrations) that reach the hand to deliver a clean feedback and sensation for the perfect feel players demand.

This racket is definitely an upgrade to my Wilson k factor k zero which has a 118 Sq.in. Head size. This weights almost 2ounces more and is easy to swing with its head light balance. The dense pattern and the racket as a whole was an easy transition for me. This racket has considerable power and great control and feel. Amplifeel really works well by decreasing the harsh vibrations that I always felt playing better players who hit with more spin with my kzero racket. It is nice at the net but one would need to be more accurate with their volley technique. This racket is a must for 3.0 players playing with an oversized racket who truly want to take their game up a level with controllable power.
