Wilson Pro Staff RF97 Autograph

Introducing the next generation of Wilson Pro Staff Tennis Racquets. The Wilson Pro Staff 97 RF Autograph Tennis Racquet is the racquet Roger Federer has been developing with Wilson over the past year. Expect more pop from the 97 square inch head, and slightly wider 21.5mm beam, but with the same great control and feel expected from the legendary flat beam, braided kevlar Pro Staff construction. 12.6 ounce strung weight and 336 swingweight for the aggressive player seeking extra heft in their frame.

“A whole generation of tennis players grew up with the original Wilson Pro Staff. For the next generation, the Pro Staff has been re-invented with the help of the greatest tennis player of all time – Roger Federer. A combination of an aggressive and youthful new look and re-engineered technology will inspire young players for generations to come.” -Wilson Sports

What does this mean for the average consumer? For starters, fans of Federer who want to play with the same racquet, can actually play with the same racquet! The Pro Staff 97RF Autograph is made to the exact same specification as Roger’s frame, down to the shape of the pallet on the handle, as well as the hefty 12.6 ounce strung weight. The 97 square inch headsize is likely more appropriate for the non-professional player as well, than the ultra control oriented 90 square inch model available for RF fans. A flat beam design remains consistent with previous generations of Pro Staff, albeit now in a wider 21.5mm thickness for added pop and forgiveness.

5 Stars Very Sturdy

from CA wrote (January 20, 2015):

Compared with my previous two rackets - Wilson ncode 90 and k-factor 90, the RF97 is definitely an improved version of those, with regards to its sturdy impact on a ball. I like it!

4 Stars old school

Nothing like a real pro-staff real heavy. get less arm pump racing motocross than playing with this club !this is an advanced players racquet Reminds me of the old sampras style 110sq...Wilson you did good love it

5 Stars Great solid shots

I currently use the Pure Storm LTD and tried the RF and plain 97 Pro Staff. I love the RF with its super solid feel and plow through. Very solid on volleys and just great all around. I am ordering one!

5 Stars Glad I made a change

from NY wrote (November 13, 2014):

I played before with a Vokl 10. It is another player's racquet, but I thought I could use a change. This racquet is much more stable, and I believe the mass adds more power/control. I really love what this has done to serves and volleys.

5 Stars solid

The RF97 is incredible. Effortless power. Volley with ease. Was framing a few shots with my 95 and the 97 has made a positive difference for me with this issue. Strung at 60#, produces great control with plenty of power.

5 Stars RF 97 Signature Series

from wrote (September 19, 2014):

This racket has Roger Federer written all over it. Manueverable, powerful and predictable. I was hitting late on some of my backhands but the ball still cleared the net and landed in. Compared to the ProStaff 95 I'm hitting a yard farther without additional effort. I string it with my favorite hybrid combo: Technifibre Black Code in the mains at 52# and Gosen OG Sheep in the crosses at 57#. SWEET!

5 Stars RF 97 Signature Series

They got it right. The wait was worth it. Strung it with Technifibre Black Code (52#) in mains and Gosen OG Sheep (57#) in crosses. Lots of power and spin. My groundstrokes were landing 3 feet farther than with the BLX 90 I was using before. This racket is SOLID. Good job, Roger/Wilson.
