I loved Wilson RipSpin when it came out. I was not happy at all when they discontinued the string after only having it on the market for about 1 year. I was told they replaced RipSpin with their new string Wilson Revolve. For the last year I had been using Wislon Ripspin 16 gauage, and I got tons of spin from it, good power, feel, it was good on my arm, and it lasted longer than any other string I put on my Wilson 99S. The wide string pattern on my Wilson 99S goes through strings like crazy. I am lucky to get 6 sets of play out of most strings before they break on my Wilson 99S. I was getting about 10 to 12 sets of play when I was using Wilson Ripsin 16 gauage. Now you can see why I was upset when Wilson got rid of Ripspin. So, I tried the new Wilson Revolve 16 gauge. Unfortunately, Wilson must have made Wilson Revolve 16 gauage a touch softer, because I was now breaking Revolve 16 gauage within 6 sets of play just like any other string. I decided to try Revolve 15 gauge just because I was fed up with breaking strings so quickly. Thankfully, I sucked it up and tried this 15 gauage string, because it plays exactly the same as Wilson Ripsin 16 gauge. Same amount of spin, feel, comfort, etc, and most importantly I am back to getting 10 to 12 sets of play out of the string. I highly recommend this string for 4.5 type players who hit hard and put a ton of spin on the ball using the Wilson 99S, who need a string that will last.
