Wilson Surge BLX Tennis Racquet

Utilizes Basalt fiber (BLX) technology for improved feel and frame feedback. 10.4 oz. strung weight, 100 sq. in. headsize, and a 26/23mm wide beam. 4 Stars New racquet

from NH wrote (January 27, 2014):

I needed to change the size of my grip. I had switched to Babolat raquet, but I drifted back to Wilson. The Wilson raquets feel better weighted and balanced than Babolat. I really enjoy the control that this raquet is giving me, and I am able to generate more raquet speed. My backhand has more zip on it now with better topspin.

5 Stars Relearning

from TX wrote (July 15, 2013):

Learned to play in 1972 with a McGregor Speed Wood. It's been over 20 years since I last played. My last racquet was a Wilson T5000. Bought a $30 WalMart Wilson just to see if I really wanted to play again. I did, so I read up on racquets and demoded the Surge BLX (Great Demo $6.95 for a week). Ordered the Surge after 3 days. Great beginners to intermediate racquet. I've got mine hybrid strung with Bab. RPM #17 at 57 & Gama Livewire #16 at 59. It's got good pop & top spin on the ground strokes, overall good grip, balance & swing speed. My serve is about half way there so in 6 to 8 months I,ll be ready for a players racquet. Maybe a Wilson 95 Six One Team

5 Stars Great Intermediate Racket

from Ohio wrote (February 18, 2013):

This is a great mid plus racket. It has good control for all court play, but has a great sweet spot for baseline play as well. When you hit it right the ball really pops with this racket! If you are looking for a good intermediate racket to get you from an oversized beginner's racket to a smaller player's racket, this is a good one to do it with! I highly recommend at least trying a demo of this racket!
