I’ve been an avid user of the Juice racquets from Wilson & I recently decided to give the Ultra’s a test drive. I took out the 97 & 100 for a demo session and really enjoyed what kind of play I was getting out of these frames. The Ultra 100 really has some pop. With the 100 square inch head, I was able to really capitalize on the larger sweet spot area compared to that of the 97. The newly implemented cushion foam grip created a more tamed dampened, solid feel. If you are player that likes to hangout around the baseline and boom shots all over the court, the Ultra 100 is definitely worth a playtest.
I have used both the Pure Drive and the Wilson Juice 100S. In my opinion, this racquet seems to be a good blend of both. It provides lots of power with less effort like the Pure Drive, and a nice amount of spin like the Juice. I noticed right away with my ground strokes that I did not need as much force or push to get that power that I wanted. I will say that during the first ten or fifteen minutes of hitting ground strokes, the immense power did take some adjusting to. I definitely felt more control with the Pure Drive. Once I got to the net for some volleys my opinion changed very quickly! I had been lacking control on volleys and this frame was IDEAL for that. I was punching volley winners that were perfectly placed left and right. This racquet added great spin potential to my serve as well. Although I have played with more consistent racquets in the past, I think I prefer this one because of the added power. I know that the control is something I will be able to acquire after a few times playing or switching up my string choice. For reference, I am a just graduated college tennis player and used Wilson NXT 16G at mid tension.
this is fine up grade from the Juice, easy power yet stable. would love a little more weight but I can customize it
The Wilson Ultra 100 is everything I want in a racquet! I would have to say it’s pretty similar to the Babolat pure drive on a lot of levels. It’s smooth and powerful, making my strokes feel effortless. It has great shock absorption which I need because I play tennis just about every day, and in the past, have struggled with tennis elbow. Currently, I’m on a very successful 5.0 women’s interclub team. My teammates and I appreciate what this racquet has done for my game. My groundstrokes look and feel graceful with the Wilson Ultra 100. The large sweet spot benefits me tremendously because I’m able to be successful even when I’m a little off. On my volleys and returns, I have an advantage with the great maneuverability. I’m able to consistently attack my opponent and be on the offensive side. When it comes to my serve, I am very pleased. The racquet has great spin potential and I’m able to be consistent in my placement. I’ve played with other racquets in the past that add more power to my serve, but I prefer this one because I can still get enough pace with much more consistency. Overall, spectacular racquet!
As a player that uses the Juice racquet, the Ultra 100 seemed very comparable. Like that of the Juice 100, power was not lacking! Although the Juice may feature a little bit more power than the Ultra, the Ultra did allow more control for my game. One thing that really stuck out with the Ultra was how comfortable the racquet felt. The feel and comfort of the racquet seemed to be improved over the Juice. IG+笻ve used some powerful racquets that have blended control in the past (Juice 100 & Pure Drive) and the Ultra ranks right up there with those frames. IG+笻m a 3.5 player that used Wilson NXT 16G strung at the mid tension 55 pounds
less power more control than the Juice 100 . Great doubles stick . punch on the volleys was on point.
Really like the feel of this racquet but still prefer the yonex ezone 100 for better all around play!
