Novak Djokovic defended his Australian Open tile in one epic match versus Rafael Nadal. The match lasted 5 hours and 53 minutes with Djokovic winning in five sets 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-7 (5-7), 7-5. The match clocked in as the longest match in Australian Open history to go with the longest Grand Slam singles finals in the Open Era. Nadal made a bit of unfortunate history after the match becoming the first and only player thus far to lose three Grand Slam finals in a row to the same person in the Open Era. Djokovic's win was his 5th of what is now 12 Grand Slam singles titles.
