Day 2: June 22-24, 2010: Isner-Mahut Match at the 2010 Wimbledon Championships
John Isner vs. Nicolas Mahut
In the first round of the 2010 Wimbledon Championships, American John Isner defeated French qualifier Nicolas Mahut 6-4, 3-6, 6-7 (7-9), 7-6 (7-3), 70-68. The match lasted 11 hours & 5 minutes over the course of three days, marking it the longest match in tennis history. The duel between Isner & Mahut is often referred to as the “endless” match.
