  • Headsize: 115 sq. in.

  • Technology

Heads Intellifiber (integrated on both sides of the throat area) created from piezoelectric materials, has breakthrough new properties which make them extraordinarily unique and different from traditional materials
Energy Transformation: Using the mechanical energy of ball impact and converting - in less than a millisecond - into electrical energy.
Controllable Shape Change: An electrical impulse actively changes the shape of the Intellifibers for more stiffness.
The Power Benefit: In less than the first millisecond of ball impact, Head Intellifibers stiffen and reduce bending in the throat area for unmatched power in current racquet design. No matter how strong the material, a traditional racquet will still bend upon ball impact. This bending causes a loss of potential power.
The Dampening Benefit: Unlike mechanical energy, electrical energy does not create vibrations. Therefore, 20% of the vibrations are immediately eliminated upon ball impact for optimum comfort.

An innovative cross-section design featuring dual rounded bubbles in the throat and shaft area of the racquet, reducing weight by 6% and increasing torsional rigidity by 27%.
Benefit: Because of its light weight and stiffness, Head?s PowerFrame increases torsional stability for less torque and twist providing optimum control and reduces weight maneuverability.

Head's perfectly symmetrical PowerPattern with equal distance between all main and cross strings, creates the world?s only stringbed that deflects this deeply and consistently upon ball impact. The PowerPattern featuring patented PowerZone grommets, allows the strings to deflect by more than 180% compared to conventional grommets and string patterns.
Benefit: PowerPattern provides ultimate power and maximum sweetspot along with outstanding directional control because of its consistent response no matter where the ball hits on the stringbed - Perfect Power!

FYI to those whose remarks about how heavy this racquet is are misinterpreting the issue. The racquet is 10 points head heavy. Repeat 10 points head heavy. Comparing it to a Wilson Hyper Hammer or a Head iS 10 and concluding that this 8.2 oz racquet is heavy is ludicrous. The racquet is rigid, however, Babolat RPM Blast at 55 lbs mains and 53 lbs crosses has worked out well. Response is quite good, and you can feel the ball during "compress and roll".

I thought this racquet sounded like it would be lighter than the Wilson Hyper Hammer 5.3 I'm currently using, but it was heavier. I thought the balls would "fly off the racquet head" but in fact I can do more with my Hyper Hammer with less impact on my right elbow. The fractionally extra weight is palpable. At this point in my tennis development, the Intelligencer isn't what I need. The extra wide frame does not feel as easy to wield as my Hyper Hammer's, and the head shape will require some getting used to....When my arm and elbow feel stronger, I'll take out the Head Intelligence and try it again.

This is my 5th is12 intelligence racket I have bought. The power is amazing. Lightweight for the size. Easy swing. Good shock absorbance. Long body for extra reach. This is far above any other names in rackets and demos I have used. I play mixed doubles, mostly men 4.0s and women's doubles and this racket makes that possible. Dislikes: I never like the strings that come in the racket. The longer length can be a bit tough on the wrist. Overall it is wonderful

This racquet is SUPER light. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this to anyone who is advanced in their tennis game, unless you want serious arm pain! For me this racquet was perfect, as I am just starting to play more and get a feel for my game. The light weight of this racquet has helped me tremendously at all aspects of my games. I feel as though I have better reaction time at the net when the volleys are coming at me. I also noticed that I had greater control and power from the baseline, which is something I was looking for in a racquet (combination of good power and control). This racquet even helped me to get some topspin, mostly on my ground strokes. I have also noticed added spin on my kick serves as well. Another plus is that this racquet comes at a great price! For anyone looking to add some power to their game (not too advanced) this is a great racquet to check out.

I am a good and competitive player and I found only advantages using this great oversized racquet. i am thinking of buying another one as a backup. i did not find any negatives. here's a thought, why can't this racquet become available with a smaller head for advanced players or for any player that prefers a smaller head.

I bought the IS-12 in Jan, 2016, and tried it out a few times to see how it compared to my IS-10. I still prefer my IS-10 because if its lightness. The weight of the IS-12 as advertised in the Specification is incorrect. I think it should be "unstrung weight". I measured the IS-12 as received (strung) with a very accurate digital scale and it showed 9.125 oz. As a very senior player of solid 4.0 level I prefer lighter rackets now, and I was mislead in purchasing the racket thinking it would be about the same weight as my IS-10. Every time when I hit the ball the racket would make a cracking sound. It could be the cold weather (Feb, 2016). I like the string pattern of 14X17 which provides a lot of spins on the ball. Overall, I still like the racket and will use it as a backup for my IS-10.

Light weight facilitates great reaction volleys at net. Everybody says "Great hands" but I credit the racquet. Compensates for bad form, allowing me to get racquet back fast, when I'm late. I feel like I get better control on topspin groundstrokes. Was rallying with a 5.0 (way over my head) and he commented how good my forehand was looking. And it's cheap! Only downside is I think that they are a little fragile. My prior 12 (never abused) didn't survive first restring. This replacement is subtly improved, and may be better in that regard. An awesome doubles stick! Our pro told me he'd shank every ball with it because of weight, but for hacks like me, maybe perfect.

I bought this racquet for my wife who had a 9 year old Head Ti that she loved. She has been experiencing elbow pain and this appeared to have all the attributes I was looking for. It is super light weight but the rebound feels smooth as if you were hitting with a much heavier racquet. Great sweet spot allows high speed generation with control and her elbow pain went away. I have no idea if others will get the same results but for her this was the perfect choice.

I have used many racquets in the past 30 years. This one is the best for a middle aged 3.5-4 club player. It has great power, especially if you use the Head Intelligence hybrid strings that come with it. It is great for your arm. But the best thing about it is that it has a natural tendency to keep the ball low so that powerful shots do not tend to go long. It also has good spin. I have seen tennis buffs talk about staying away from light racquets, this one is super light at 9oz strung, for lack of "plow through". this is total baloney, the graphite and piezo electric material of the racquet creates tremendous whip when you swing it and puts great pop in the ball, yet great control.
